Able Pro Angular v3.3.0 is officially live. This release is a technical upgrade designed to align the template with Angular 21 practices. We focused heavily on performance and architecture, specifically targeting how the template handles state management and authentication.

If you are upgrading an existing project or starting a new Angular 21 application, this update provides a modernised, scalable foundation.

Why was this update needed

Angular 21 continued the shift in how modern apps should be built, and we needed to adapt the template to match that direction.

  • The Signal Shift: With Angular prioritising Signal-based reactivity, sticking solely to older change detection methods limited performance potential.
  • Zone.js Overhead: Modern Angular is moving toward a “zoneless” future. We wanted to eliminate the dependency on Zone.js to improve raw application performance.
  • Auth Scalability: Our previous authentication logic relied heavily on local data handling. While functional for prototypes, it needed to be more robust for production apps that require secure, server-side verification.

What’s improved in this release

We didn’t just bump the version number; we refactored key parts of the architecture to match current best practices.

Angular 21 & performance

Signal-Based Forms: We have migrated Reactive Forms to Signal-based Forms. This makes state updates more predictable and aligns with Angular’s new reactivity model.
Zone.js Optimisation: The codebase has been updated to eliminate the dependency on Zone.js, significantly reducing bundle overhead and improving runtime performance.

Security & authentication overhaul

  • API-Driven Verification: We significantly reworked the authentication flow. Instead of relying on local checks, the template is now structured to handle verification primarily through APIs.
  • Structured Role-Based Access (RBAC): We improved the role management structure. Handling permissions for different user types is now cleaner and easier to map to backend logic.

How does this help developers

This update addresses two main developer concerns: reactivity and security.

By adopting Signal-based state handling, the application’s data flow is cleaner and more efficient. On the security front, shifting to API-driven authentication means you have a solid starting point for real-world implementation, saving you from having to rewrite the login logic when connecting to a backend.
